Autumn Semester ~ Week 11 ~ 21st November 2002

AFTER recovering from the trauma of accidentally going to hotmale.com rather than hotmail.com, I was able to start week 11. I check my watch… 7:30… owch! I look in my hotmaIL box, and find that someone has been kind enough to send me the following email: "what if you could have it all.. larger breasts... NO SURGERY..." Good question. What if I could have larger breasts? Its honestly something I haven't thought about before. People seem to have got the impression that I'm rather strange already, so I guess no one would really notice…On first thoughts - HELL NO!
I check my watch again, 7:30… right… time I got on with the day. Last night I went to see Harry Potter 1. I'm well impressed with that movie. We saw it at the Union, and if anyone hasn't been there to see a Sunday night film - I totally recommend it. They put the full stage speakers on, and I swear the floor literally shook when Hagrid knocked that door down! For free it's a quality night out! Thanks to Jo for dragging me along!
FINALLY the lift project is in… although I totally messed it up. I'm just going to have to work harder for the exams. Exams are funny things. I never want to revise - I just want to get in there and do it (although if I don't revise, I'll have nothing to write about!). [Break for time check - 7.30… right] Oh yer, the other cool thing about exams is that you get to read all the amusing things that people have written on the exam tables!! I think sympathy is due for my multimedia course - we get our exam at 5pm-7pm on a Friday night!
ANYONE reading this in Battersea Court, as you should know by now, there is the competition running for the best decorated kitchen this Christmas. There are some cool prizes on offer - so get decorating! Oh by the way, my watch stopped 9 months ago.

A few week's ago I wrote about the Rawson Phenomenon - the strange fact that nobody ever seems to know where Battersea Rawson is - but this week it struck me that many moons ago, when GU2/GuildfordCampusRadio was housed in nothing but a cupboard, Rawson must have been far better known. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, that very cupboard (well, small room) is in Rawson 2, barely 10 metres from where I am now. Hidden between a door out of my floor and the Wells staircase it looks like it's been derelict for many years, containing only a few sad old boxes and microphone stands. So, I've been prompted to think of new uses for this bit of Surrey history. One suggestion was a special 'party room' for Rawson 2, but I'm not sure how well that'd go down with the powers that be! Or maybe we could open a Battersea Court bar?! Suggestions on a postcard…..
YET again I'm going to talk about one of the major highlights of my week - Sunday Roast (which was this week held at lunchtime especially so I could get to a rehearsal at 2pm - awww)! The six of us have decided that this tradition is too good to be kept to ourselves, so have hit upon the idea of starting a Roast Dinner Society. Our aims would be to promote the social values of weekly roast dinners (and of course the accompanying wine), experiment with new cooking techniques and raise awareness of vegetarian steaks - yes, they do exist! Also - getting your weekly vegetable allowance all in one day (well… almost) is pretty useful. And after the 20 signatures, AGM, committee malarkey, we could buy what the meat eaters in the group have been after all along - a brand new carving knife (to be shared equally amongst members, of course)! So… any takers?
OF course, we'd need a society headquarters, complete with oven, cooking utensils, food, wine…. and that's where the old GU2 cupboard comes into play!
